Job description
The Compliance Officer - Enhanced Due Diligence & Client Reviews is responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with local and international regulations as well as head office requirements. The officer acts as a gatekeeper in the compliance department and ensures that regulations are adhered to.Personal contribution and responsibilities
The tasks include:- Reviewing customer due diligence information and documents and following up on outstanding issues with the front office to ensure compliance with know-your-client and anti-money laundering requirements
- Conducting and documenting customer risk assessments during the onboarding process, client reviews, and trigger event reviews, as well as escalating anti-money laundering (AML)/CDD issues when necessary
- Participation in ad hoc inquiries from and support in handling inspections by regulatory authorities, internal audit, and central financial crime compliance
- Conducting compliance monitoring in connection with AML/CDD
Your profile
The requirements are:- University degree, preferably in law / finance / accounting / business administration
- Strong knowledge of AML / Know Your Client (KYC) / CDD
- Good analytical skills
- At least 1 year of professional experience in the financial services industry, preferably in AML compliance/KYC onboarding and client review
- A Certified AML Professional (CAMS) certificate under the Enhanced Competency Framework on Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Financing of Terrorism is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of the AML guidelines of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the Securities & Futures Commission (SFC) is an advantage.
