The Compliance Officer Italy supports compliance with Italian and European financial regulations, particularly in the area of insurance brokerage activities, and provides expert support in the event of regulatory changes. Tasks
- General/Compliance Culture:
- Ensuring compliance with applicable banking and securities laws, regulations, and internal guidelines relating to financial regulation, in particular insurance-related rules (e.g., IDD)
- Maintaining excellent and up-to-date knowledge of all regulations, industry standards, and internal policies and procedures
- Relationship with regulatory and supervisory authorities:
- Supporting the CMLRO and the Head of Product and Service Compliance in maintaining a solid and regular relationship with the Italian authorities and other relevant regulatory bodies
- Ensuring compliance with reporting requirements to local regulatory authorities
- Compliance Advisory Service:
- Advising and communicating with BJB.E management on compliance matters
- Advising the company and management on regulatory compliance matters
- Drafting and reviewing compliance guidelines and internal policies/procedures
- Participation in projects that address new regulatory initiatives and contribute to improving regulatory processes
- Information from the management of BJB.E on regulatory changes relevant to their respective areas of responsibility
- Participation in the process of new business activities as a regulatory advisor
- Maintaining excellent and up-to-date knowledge of all regulations, industry standards, and internal policies and procedures
- Compliance program:
- Implementation and maintenance of all relevant global standards defined in the global Julius Baer compliance program, taking into account relevant local regulations and laws

Requirements
- Profile:
- Master's degree in economics, finance or law
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in the European financial sector (audit, banking, etc.)
- Good understanding of European financial laws and regulations, especially insurance-related rules (e.g., IDD)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to define efficient compliance solutions for regulatory requirements
- Personal qualities:
- Passionate with an appetite for change and implementation, with both a control and service mentality
- Ability to delve deeply into topics and work hands-on when necessary
- Ability to communicate effectively and build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders locally and globally
- Strong negotiating partner
- Strong ability to define and implement pragmatic and effective solutions
- Professional and technical skills:
- Experienced compliance officer with significant experience in EU regulations and Italian regulations
- Significant experience in the international wealth management industry (HNWIs, UHNWIs)
- Detailed knowledge of regulations governing investment services, with a particular focus on insurance products
- Experience in dealing with regulatory authorities and their requirements
- Experience in project management as a manager and project member
