The Compliance Officer Italy is responsible for monitoring and implementing compliance rules and regulations in Italy and reports directly to the Head of Products & Services Compliance and the CMLRO. The position involves advising managers, monitoring business activities and working with regulatory authorities.
Job description
Tasks
- Monitoring compliance with banking and securities laws, regulations and internal guidelines relating to financial regulation, in particular in the area of insurance regulation (IDD)
- Support the OMLRO and the Head of Products & Services Compliance in maintaining a solid and regular relationship with the Italian authorities and other relevant regulatory bodies
- Advising the BJBE management on compliance-related matters
- Advising on regulatory compliance matters for the company and senior management level
- Creation and review of compliance guidelines and internal policies/procedures
- Participation in projects to implement new regulatory initiatives and contribute to the improvement of regulatory processes
- Informing the BJBE management about regulatory changes relevant to their respective areas of responsibility
- Participation in the process of new business activities as a regulatory advisor
- Verification of adherence to compliance rules through regular tests
- Preparation of regular and ad-hoc reports for the BJBE management and the compliance center on the execution of compliance activities and their results
Requirements
Profile
- Master's degree in economics, finance or law
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in the European financial industry (audit, banking, etc.)
- Good understanding of European financial laws and regulations, especially in the area of insurance regulation (IDD)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to define efficient compliance solutions for regulatory requirements
Professional and technical requirements
- Experienced compliance officer with significant experience in EU and Italian regulation
- Significant experience in the international wealth management industry (HNWl, UHNWI)
- Detailed knowledge of investment services regulations with a particular focus on insurance products
- Experience in dealing with regulatory authorities and their requirements
- Project experience as manager and project member

- Ability to dive deep into topics and work on them "hands-on" when necessary
- Ability to communicate effectively and build and maintain solid relationships with stakeholders locally and globally
- Strong negotiating partner
