Compliance Officer in Lisbon, in the Legal & Compliance department, full-time position.About the role
We are looking for a Compliance Officer to support the local compliance team in Frankfurt am Main or Lisbon. This role requires someone with strong management skills, innovative ideas, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.Your tasks
- Assist the Head of Compliance in developing and maintaining a robust and harmonized compliance framework within the EU, with a focus on the Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA), the Securities Market Act (WpIG), the German Banking Supervision Act (MaRisk), the German Market Surveillance Act (MaComp), and MiFID II.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Developing and maintaining compliance-related policies, procedures, and manuals.
- Ensuring adherence to compliance processes and policies, and conducting risk-based controls.
- Support with customer onboarding activities.
- Support with regulatory compliance reporting to the local management board and headquarters in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Conducting the assessment of regulatory screening activities in accordance with MaRisk.
- Conducting regular risk-based monitoring activities and identifying risk mitigation measures.
- Serves as a key point of contact for financial crime and compliance matters.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors (in coordination with the local Head of Compliance/MLRO).
Your requirements
- Bachelor's degree in law or a related field.
- At least 4 years of verifiable experience in compliance or financial crime roles within the financial services industry or at audit firms.
- A solid understanding of EU financial regulations and directives, including the GwG, WpIG, BaFin AuA, and MaRisk.
- Experience in designing and implementing compliance programs and policies that take into account various regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across different regions.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience interacting with EU regulatory authorities and internal and external auditors.
- Fluent in German and English.
