Compliance Officer – Market Regulations & Best Execution 80–100% (f/m/d)

The Julius Baer Group is seeking a Compliance Officer for Market Regulations & Best Execution in Zurich to serve as the primary point of contact for compliance matters related to best execution and market regulations. The successful candidate should have experience in regulatory compliance or internal audit within a bank and possess in-depth knowledge of Swiss and European financial market regulations.

Tasks

- Providing regulatory compliance advice and risk assessments that contribute to the development of robust global minimum standards by creating policies, guidelines, and manuals, and by designing or improving global minimum controls - Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders through the Group General Counsel, Global Compliance, and business units to strengthen the Group’s global market regulation and best execution frameworks in line with evolving regulatory expectations - Supporting key business transformation initiatives in the areas of market regulation and best execution, and promoting risk awareness and training initiatives across the organization

Your profile

- A university degree or equivalent qualification in business administration, economics, or (corporate) law; additional certifications in compliance, risk management, or financial regulation are a plus - In-depth expertise in Swiss and European financial market regulation, including but not limited to FMIA, MiFIR, and EMIR; Familiarity with financial market regulations in Asia, the UK, or the US is a plus - Professional experience in regulatory compliance or internal audit in a banking environment is required, preferably in the area of regulatory reporting or associated risk functions - Strong analytical skills, common sense, and the confidence to collaborate constructively with business units while maintaining cooperative relationships - A solution-oriented and client-focused mindset, complemented by strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create executive-level presentations (PowerPoint) and formal compliance memoranda - Demonstrable initiative, a proactive and independent work style, and a deep sense of ownership and responsibility - A genuine passion for staying ahead of new regulatory trends and driving internal control frameworks within a complex private banking context
