Compliance Officer - Private Banking Compliance 100% (f/m/d)

The Compliance Officer is responsible for monitoring and implementing compliance guidelines in the private banking sector, including conducting risk assessments and supporting relationship managers. The position requires at least 3-5 years of experience in compliance functions and knowledge of the Swiss regulatory environment.

Tasks

The Compliance Officer will perform the following tasks:
  • Conduct high-risk client onboarding checks, including detailed assessments of know-your-customer (KYC) and financial crime risks
  • Support relationship managers and management in the implementation, consultation, and monitoring of compliance matters
  • Conduct anti-money laundering (AML) investigations when necessary
  • Review local policies and procedures, if necessary
  • Identify and investigate serious cases of non-compliance
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, both inside and outside of compliance
  • Promote a culture of compliance among employees to minimize legal, regulatory, sanction, and reputational risks.
  • Support compliance projects and track internal and regulatory audits
  • Provide training and training materials on compliance and AML topics

Requirements

The following requirements apply to this position:
  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in law, economics, business administration, or a banking-related subject)
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in client onboarding, audit, or compliance functions
  • Knowledge of the Swiss regulatory landscape, in particular AML regulations and client documentation standards
  • Good knowledge of emerging markets (Middle East, Africa, Central and Eastern Europe, Israel, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey) and/or Asia
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and an affinity for IT
  • Strong personality with good organizational, operational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, with excellent analytical, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to write accurate evaluations with a strong sense of integrity and discretion
  • Independent, efficient, and meticulous approach to work, with solution-oriented thinking
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of one of the following languages—Greek, Hebrew, Arabic, or Turkish—is highly desirable.
