Senior Documentary Affairs Advisor

Tasks

• Import/Export
• Ensuring compliance with rules, procedures, and standards—both internal and external—related to documentary operations (ICC, compliance, economic sanctions, etc.)
• Negotiating with clients and correspondents regarding the terms of a transaction based on an analysis
• Providing advice and information to internal and external clients on all aspects related to the processing of trade finance instruments
• Processing and managing a diverse client portfolio
• Identification of technical risks associated with the processing and execution of documentary transactions
• Handling more complex operations and contributing to problem-solving
• Ensuring the training of assistants and interns during their time on the job

Requirements

• Higher-level education
• At least 10 years of proven experience in the design and implementation of all types of documentary transactions at a recognized banking institution with expertise in commodity trade finance or at a trading company
• Ability to analyze complex procedures, excellent technical mastery of the instruments and applicable guidelines
• A keen sense of customer relations
• Autonomy, accuracy, precision, and team spirit
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Fluency in French and English (both spoken and written; knowledge of other languages is a plus) as well as proficiency in standard banking software
