Consultant Relations Manager
The Consultant Relations Manager at Vontobel will build strong partnerships with US investment advisors to match advisors' needs with the firm's customized investment solutions. The aim is to increase market share through ratings and recommendations and to generate growth across the product range.
Job description: Consultant Relations Manager
Tasks
- Lead engagement with several large investment consultants by leveraging existing relationships, acquiring ratings, working with cCIO teams and building strategic relationships.
- Responsible to help drive the sales strategy and expand Vontobel's market share by being an intellectual contributor, solution provider and trusted advisor to consultants. The goal is to deliver growth across our product suite of high conviction actively managed Equity, Fixed Income and multi-asset capabilities.
- Develop a business plan for the relevant firms, collaborating with internal stakeholders, to ensure alignment with the overall strategic direction.
- Proactively respond to consultant requests including RFPs, quarterly requests and ad hoc outreach while keeping distribution colleagues well informed of all communications.
- Provide constructive feedback on strategies, market / industry trends and best practices to management, sales and investment management teams.
- Develop and executive a plan to engage with field consultants to raise awareness of our brand and investment capabilities, working hand and hand with the various regional relationship managers globally.
- Lead complex technical investment discussions, including strategy update meetings, with a sophisticated audience.
- Engage internally across the organization, in particular with our globally located colleagues, to partner with the product, marketing and investment resources of the firm to address the ever-changing needs of our clients.
- Build positive relationships across the broader global sales organization, investment communications, operations, legal, compliance and other internal teams critical to the end-to-end client lifecycle.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of investment sales experience required, working at an institutional asset manager or consulting firm in sales and consultant relations
- The ability to creatively leverage intellectual capital and thought leadership to open doors and create commercial partnerships with research consultants
- Ability to position our investment expertise across relevant market segments to include: defined contribution, defined benefit, corporate, public pensions, endowment & foundations, as well as cCIOs
- Commitment to the philosophy and process underlying Vontobel's investment approach
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly with regards to conveying technical investment approaches and key selling points in a clear and compelling manner
- Demonstration of initiative, accountability, and a focus on delivering consistent quality work, coupled with outstanding time management, prioritization and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team to build relationships and interact effectively with business partners. Comfortable traveling on a regular basis
- A strong academic background is required; MBA and/or CFA strongly preferred. Series 7 and 63 licenses required
- Individual can be located remotely, however a regular presence in NYC will be encouraged.

- A base salary in the range of 150,000 - 250,000 USD, depending on seniority and experience
