Controller (m/f)

Glarner Kantonalbank is looking for an experienced Controller (m/f) who will be responsible for the monthly preparation and quality assurance of figures and reports as well as for the strategic management of the bank. The ideal candidate has several years of professional experience in controlling and/or accounting and is characterized by very good analytical skills and team orientation.

Job description: Controller (m/f) 80 - 100 %

Your tasks:

  • You are responsible for the monthly preparation and quality assurance of the figures and reports/dashboards for the operational management of the bank.
  • You will supervise and support strategic controlling for value-oriented, bank-relevant management (contribution margin accounting) and continuously develop it further in order to analyze trends and optimize the management of the bank.
  • You carry out meaningful analyses and comments on the actual/actual development or plan/actual deviations of relevant control variables and determine them.
  • You optimize the quality and efficiency of figures, reports and reports/dashboards through the exploration and implementation of digital solutions and improve the processes of monthly figure preparation in cooperation with other departments.
  • You will work closely with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination and actively manage the annual budgeting process as well as medium-term and capital planning.
  • You find out about current developments in the industry, new methods and technologies and integrate them into your work. As a member of the Controlling team, you are the central point of contact for the entire bank in controlling matters. As part of the team, you ensure that all stakeholders are informed about relevant information and developments.

Your profile:

  • Completed studies at a university of applied sciences in controlling, accounting, finance or banking or another field of study
  • Several years of professional experience in controlling and/or accounting, with experience in a bank or similar financial institution being a particular advantage.
  • Very good analytical skills to analyze and interpret complex data sets
  • Secure IT knowledge to make well-founded decisions
  • Solution-oriented way of working and the ability to structure and solve complex problems.
  • Team-oriented personality with strong communication and coordination skills to work effectively with different stakeholders and convey complex information.
  • Independence, reliability, quality awareness and a strong interest in challenges in order to be successful in a dynamic environment.
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office products, especially Microsoft Excel, as well as experience with PowerBI an advantage.
  • Digitally savvy and willing to learn and apply new technologies and methods to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of controlling.
  • German to at least level C2
  • Residence in Switzerland or willingness to move to Switzerland
