Job Description
The Income Tax Associate (Officer) supports the organization's corporate tax operations by ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations and maintaining accurate tax reporting. This role involves hands-on execution of tax processes for financial and regulatory reporting, while collaborating with global tax teams and leveraging technology to drive efficiency.Key Responsibilities
- Tax Financial Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly income tax provisions in accordance with ASC740 including but not limited to journal entries, reconciliation of deferred balances in OneSource Tax Provision, reconciliation of tax payments and other tax reconciliation processes.
- Support quarterly validation of Other Comprehensive Income (OCI) ledger balances, payable reconciliations, goodwill/intangible assets, and consolidated reporting.
- Prepare and support reporting packages.
- Compile and Analyze variances and provide clear, data-driven explanations for tax-related impacts.
- Tax compliance
- Assist in preparing corporate and state tax returns.
- Update and reconcile ENA software for fixed assets, goodwill/intangibles, acquisition costs, and internally developed software.
- Support compliance audits.
- Specialized Tax Workflows
- Execute Alteryx workflows for various deferred balances.
- Refresh ledger-based tax reports to ensure continuity and accuracy in tax provision reporting.
- Regulatory Reporting
- Prepare tax workpapers for quarterly regulatory reporting deliverables (Basel & GST CCAR).
- Process Improvement & Technology Enablement
- Identify opportunities to streamline tax processes and controls.
- Assist in designing and implementing workflow automation.
- Leverage Power BI, Power Query, and AI tools for data analysis and reporting.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of local and international tax laws.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with tax software and financial systems (e.g., OneSource, Oracle, Alteryx).
- Familiarity with OTP/TPO systems.
- Advanced skills in Power BI, Power Query, and AI-driven analytics are a plus.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's in Taxation or CPA preferred).
- Knowledge of U.S. Federal and State income tax laws and ASC740.
- 8-12 years of proven experience in corporate tax compliance and planning.
