Credit Officer, Derivatives Competence Center

We are looking for an experienced Credit Officer for our Derivatives Competence Center in Singapore to manage and structure credit risks for large and complex trading clients. The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of derivatives, credit risk management, and wealth management.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated candidate for our Derivatives Competence Center in Singapore. As part of Credit Risk Asia, you will work closely with the Front Office and Markets teams to structure and manage credit risk across Asia.

Your challenge

The most important tasks include:
  • Structuring and managing the credit risk of a portfolio of large and/or complex trading clients (FX and OTC equity) and exercising delegated credit authority
  • Handling daily credit risk management tasks (risk identification and mitigation, setting/calculating/reviewing margin requirements, managing margin shortfalls and limit breaches, intraday monitoring of large FX trading clients, etc.)
  • Preparation of comprehensive credit applications for new credit transactions, changes, and annual reviews
  • Collaborate with legal department and external legal counsel to draft non-standard credit documents
  • Granting ad hoc approvals for trading requests and advising on complex and large derivative portfolios (customer-specific margin requirements, monitoring solutions, recognition and netting of structures and option trading strategies, etc.)
  • Serves as a center of expertise within the Credit Division for derivative product expertise, margining concepts, margining systems, and other trading-related topics
  • Driving the development of the overall credit risk framework regarding derivatives and credit valuation methods

Requirements

The most important requirements include:
  • Ability to understand customers' needs
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior level and in global teams
  • Credit Officer with product knowledge and the ability to structure, execute, and manage large and/or complex credit transactions for corporate clients
  • Ability to make quick, independent credit decisions under pressure and in close cooperation with product specialists and RMs
  • University degree, preferably in economics, finance, or banking
  • Quantitative background knowledge, preferably CFA or FRM charter holder
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of projects in addition to daily duties as a derivatives credit officer
  • Understanding of the wealth management industry and Asian markets/clients
  • Previous experience with FX trading/margin systems (Margin Man and/or Murex)
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft, SQL, Access, Python, Bloomberg, etc.)

  • Demonstrating appropriate values and behaviors, including, but not limited to, standards of honesty and integrity, diligence and prudence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, appropriate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
