Credit Officer, Derivatives Competence Center
The Credit Officer at the Derivatives Competence Center in Singapore is responsible for structuring and managing credit risks for a portfolio of large and complex trading clients. The position requires experience in credit risk management and the ability to make independent credit decisions.
Job description
Tasks
- Proactively structuring and managing credit risks for a portfolio of large and/or complex trading clients (ETD/OTC trading in FX, equities, and interest rates) and exercising delegated credit authority
- Handling daily credit risk management tasks (risk identification and mitigation, setting/calculating/reviewing margin requirements, margin calls and limit overruns, intraday monitoring of large FX trading clients, etc.)
- Preparation of comprehensive, analytical, and detailed credit applications for new credit transactions, amendments, and annual reviews
- Collaboration with attorneys and external advisors to draft non-standard credit documents
- Ad hoc approvals for trading requests and advice on complex and large derivative portfolios (client-specific margin requirements, monitoring solutions, recognition and netting of structures and option trading strategies, etc.)
- As a center of expertise within the banking industry for derivative product knowledge, margining concepts, margining systems, and other trading-related topics
- Driving the development of the overall credit risk framework for derivatives and credit valuation methods

- Demonstrate appropriate values and behaviors, including but not limited to standards of honesty and integrity, care and diligence, fair treatment (fair treatment of clients), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, appropriate risk management and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Professional and technical skills
- Senior credit officer (10+ years of experience) with in-depth product knowledge and the ability to structure, execute, and manage large and/or complex credit transactions
- Ability to make quick, independent credit decisions under pressure and in close cooperation with product specialists and relationship managers
- University degree, preferably in economics, finance, or banking
- Quantitative background, preferably CFA or FRM charterholder
- Ability to manage a portfolio of projects alongside day-to-day business as a derivatives credit officer
- Understanding of the wealth management industry and Asian markets/clients
- Previous experience with FX, trading/margin systems (preferably Margin Man and/or Murex)
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft, VBA, SQL, Access, Python, Bloomberg, etc.)
