Credit Officer, Derivatives Competence Center

We are looking for an experienced Credit Officer for our Derivatives Competence Center in Singapore to manage and structure the credit risks of large and complex trading clients. The ideal candidate will have more than 10 years of experience in credit, in-depth product knowledge, and the ability to make independent credit decisions under pressure.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated employee to join our Derivatives Competence Center in Singapore. As part of Credit Risk Asia, you will work closely with the front office and markets to structure and manage credit risks.

YOUR CHALLENGE

The position includes the following key features:

CORE TASKS

  • Proactive structuring and management of the credit risk of a portfolio of large and/or complex trading clients (ETD/OTC trading in FX, equities, and interest rates) and exercise of delegated credit authority
  • Handling daily credit risk management tasks (risk identification and mitigation, setting/calculating/reviewing margin requirements, margin bottlenecks and limit overruns, intraday monitoring of large FX trading clients, etc.)
  • Preparation of comprehensive, analytical, and detailed credit applications for new credit transactions, amendments, and annual reviews
  • Collaborate with legal department and external legal counsel to draft non-standard credit documents
  • Issuing ad hoc approvals for trading requests and advising on complex and large derivative portfolios (customer-specific margin requirements, monitoring solutions, recognition and netting of structures and option trading strategies, etc.)
  • Function as a center of excellence within the credit area for derivative product knowledge, margin concepts, margin systems, and other trading-related topics
  • Driving the development of the overall credit risk framework with respect to derivatives and credit valuation methods

REGULATORY RESPONSIBILITIES AND/OR RISK MANAGEMENT

  • Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviors, including but not limited to standards of honesty and integrity, diligence and conscientiousness, fair dealing (fair treatment of customers), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, appropriate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Team player and able to work under pressure

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior level and in global teams

PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Senior Credit Officer (10+ years of experience) with in-depth product knowledge and the ability to structure, execute, and manage large and/or complex credit transactions
  • Ability to make quick, independent credit decisions under pressure and in close cooperation with product experts and customer advisors
  • University degree, preferably in economics, finance, or banking
  • Quantitative education, preferably CFA or FRM charter
  • Able to manage a portfolio of projects alongside daily business as a Derivatives Credit Officer
