Data and Reporting Analyst
The Data and Reporting Analyst will be responsible for updating company databases, ensuring data accuracy and producing reports for portfolio management, investment teams and risk teams. The ideal candidate should have experience in data analysis, programming skills in Python and SQL, and good communication and organizational skills.
Job description: Data and Reporting Analyst
Tasks
- Updating the company databases as soon as new information is available
- Ensure that the data has been recorded correctly and that errors and faults are rectified
- Manage and ensure accuracy of position reports for data and portfolio risks on a daily basis (over 80% of tasks are automated analysis systems)
- Collaborate with the team's quantitative analysts to enhance the automated analysis systems
- Work closely with portfolio teams and marketing to enhance and improve reporting to portfolio management, investment teams, risk management teams and prospective clients
Specific responsibilities
- Configure, update and upload data tapes and credit events (received from banks in Excel format) to a SQL database to ensure management of the entire ETL pipeline
- Asset database management; daily to ensure data accuracy
- Update, generate and enhance monthly/quarterly management reports provided to the fund; ensure data accuracy across systems; support ongoing enhancement of reporting metrics; charting via Python
- Configure and validate asset portfolios/feeds to external valuation agents and ensure that the data is accurate and representative of the portfolio
- Contact for data access by CPA/portfolio management
Requirements
- Degree in a STEM subject with a minimum grade of 2:1 or higher (or equivalent)
- At least 2+ years of experience in a data analysis/visualization role
- Computer literate with intermediate skills in Python, use of VSTO (or equivalent) (SQL; Jupyter and/or one or more data tools)
- Collaboration, communication, organizational and presentation skills with the ability to deal confidently with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and audience-oriented manner, with a reasonable and detailed understanding of the underlying data
