Data Governance Manager
The Data Governance Manager is responsible for maintaining a robust data governance framework at Bank J. Safra Sarasin to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and the improvement of data quality and integrity. The Manager works with various stakeholders to implement best practices in data management and promote a data-driven culture within the Bank.

Your role
As a Data Governance Manager at Bank J. Safra Sarasin, you will be an ambitious individual who wants to contribute to the success of the Bank. You will be responsible for maintaining a robust data governance framework, including policies, procedures, controls and training within the Bank. The role will ensure regulatory requirements are met and data quality and integrity is improved across the business. You will work with various stakeholders to implement best practice in data governance and promote a data-driven culture within the bank.Your tasks
- Maintaining and developing the Bank's data governance framework for Switzerland and relevant international entities
- Sustainable enforcement of data management policies, standards and procedures to ensure data availability, integrity and confidentiality
- Collaboration with various stakeholders, including legal, risk management, IT, information security and the Data Protection Officer
- Manage the data classification and identification process along the data lifecycle and identify and mitigate risks associated with data management practices
- Supporting the periodic data deletion process based on data retention policies and regulatory requirements
- Assisting with data quality management initiatives, identifying and correcting inconsistencies or inaccuracies
- Develop data governance metrics and KPIs and provide regular updates to senior management
- Initiate and conduct employee training and awareness programs to promote a data-driven culture and best practices
Your profile
- University degree in data management, data or information governance, information technology, information security or a related field or completed apprenticeship or similar banking training
- Experience in data governance, data management or a similar role within a financial institution. Experience in regulatory compliance and risk management is an advantage
- Strong understanding of Swiss banking regulations (in particular FINMA Circular 2023/1 and the management of critical data), GDPR and international data governance or data protection frameworks
- Expertise in data management, data lifecycle management and data quality management. Experience with relevant tools and technologies is an advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with different interest groups
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Fluent in English, fluent in German or French is an advantage
