As a Data Management Analyst, you will support the investment team and risk functions in providing high quality data analytics and ensuring data quality. You will be responsible for the management and maintenance of security master content, data quality and data lineage mapping tools.

Data Management Analyst

Tasks

  • First level of data support for portfolio managers, researchers, quants, engineers and data scientists across the organization
  • Management of the onboarding and integration of various financial and alternative data sets
  • Design and build ETL pipelines using industry-standard technologies; define and optimize data models, schemas and workflows with engineering teams
  • Data quality and production support; proactively identify and mitigate data quality risks before they impact downstream users; drive data quality management maturity with engineers
  • Manage and enhance security master content and data lineage tools to ensure data accuracy and completeness
  • Administration of data management permissions, improvement of usage transparency, analysis of usage patterns and optimization of costs
  • Curate and maintain a metadata catalog and knowledge base and promote automation of daily tasks

Requirements

Essential requirements

  • Experience with data ingestion, management and analysis, preferably in the financial industry
  • Strong knowledge of Python and SQL
  • Expertise in ETL tools and technologies
  • Deep knowledge of financial data standards with proven ability to produce high quality analysis, strong analytical mindset and accountability for results
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Advantageous requirements

  • Working knowledge of data modeling, Data Lakehouse, Linux / UNIX, Git; 3+ years preferred
  • Familiarity with one or more relevant database technologies, e.g. Apache Kudu, Postgresql, Snowflake etc.
  • Experience with large and unstructured data volumes
  • Practical experience with financial data standards and understanding of market data structures
  • Data line management skills with proven ability to work effectively across different teams and hierarchical levels

Personal characteristics

  • Strong academic background and university degree with high mathematical and computational content, e.g. computer science, mathematics, finance
  • Hands-on attitude; willing to engage in data projects across the organization
  • Self-organized with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple projects and with competing business needs and priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to establish and maintain close working relationships with quantitative researchers, technologists and traders as well as senior business people
  • Trustworthy communication; able to argue a point concisely and deal positively with conflicting views
