Data Management Analyst

As a Data Management Analyst, you will support the Investment Management teams in managing and analyzing data and contribute to creating a better data experience for these teams. Your tasks will include data analysis, quality assurance and the development of data pipelines.

Job description: Data Management Analyst

Tasks

  • First level of data support for portfolio managers, researchers, traders, engineers and data scientists across the organization
  • Onboarding and integration of new financial and alternative data sets
  • Design and build ETL pipelines using industry-standard and proprietary technologies; define and optimize data extraction, transformation and loading
  • Proactively identify and resolve data quality issues impacting downstream users; store data provenance
  • Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems
  • Maintenance and improvement of data content and catalog mapping tools; ensuring data accuracy and optimal costs
  • Data cleansing; improvement of usage patterns and optimization of cost attribution and change models
  • Clean up and maintain a catalog and knowledge base; and promote automation of daily tasks

Requirements

Essential requirements

  • Experience with data ingestion, management and analysis; preferably in the financial industry
  • Strong knowledge of Python and SQL
  • Expertise in ETL tools and technologies
  • Excellent attention to detail with demonstrated ability to produce high quality analysis; strong analytical skills and accountability for results
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Advantageous requirements

  • Working knowledge of data modeling, data warehouse, Linux/UNIX
  • Familiarity with one or more relevant database technologies, e.g. Apache Ignite, PostgreSQL, Snowflake etc.
  • Experience with large and unstructured data sets
  • Practical experience with financial data providers and understanding of market data structures
  • Experience with SQL and proven ability to work effectively across different teams and hierarchical levels

Personal characteristics

  • Strong academic background and university degree with high mathematical and computational content, e.g. computer science, mathematical finance
  • Hands-on experience; willing and happy to work on data projects across the organization
  • Self-organized with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple projects and with competing business needs and priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to establish and maintain close working relationships with quantitative researchers, technologists, traders and senior business people
  • Trustworthy communicator; able to argue a point succinctly and deal positively with conflicting views
