Data Management Analyst
As a Data Management Analyst, you will support the Investment Management teams in the curation and management of data and contribute to the development of data platforms for data-driven decisions. You will be responsible for data quality, data lineage and data management and work closely with various teams.
Job description: Data Management Analyst
Tasks
- First level of data support for portfolio managers, researchers, traders, engineers and data scientists across the organization
- Onboarding and integration of various financial and alternative data sets
- Design and build ETL pipelines with industry standard and proprietary technologies; define and optimize data standards, data lineage with stakeholders/business partners
- Proactively identify and resolve data quality issues impacting downstream users, store data quality provenance and monitor data provenance with business partners/business associates
- Design, lead and implement master data management projects to ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems
- Data governance: improvement of usage patterns, analysis of usage patterns and optimization of cost allocation and change models
- Creation and maintenance of a metastable catalog and knowledge base and promotion of automation of daily tasks
Requirements
Essential requirements
- Experience with data acquisition, management and analysis, preferably in the financial industry
- Strong knowledge of Python and SQL
- Expertise in ETL, data quality technologies
- Excellent attention to detail with proven ability to produce and deliver high quality analysis, with strong analytical thinking and accountability for results
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Advantageous requirements
- Working knowledge of data modeling, data origin, Linux/UNIX, SQL
- Familiarity with one or more relevant database technologies, e.g. Apache Hadoop, PostgresSQL, Snowflake etc.
- Experience with large, unstructured data volumes
- Practical experience with financial data providers and understanding of market data structures
- Experience working in a team with proven ability to work effectively across different teams and hierarchical levels
Personal characteristics
- Strong academic background and university degree with high mathematical and computational content, e.g. computer science, mathematics or finance
- Hands-on experience, willing to participate in data projects across the organization
- Self-organized with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple projects and with competing business needs and priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to build a close working relationship with quantitative researchers, technologists, traders and senior business partners
- Trustworthy communication; able to argue a point concisely and deal positively with conflicting views
