Data Management Specialist

The Julius Baer Group is seeking a Data Management Specialist (full-time position) to cover a maternity leave until March 31, 2027, to drive the company’s strategic transformation through effective data management. The ideal candidate has experience in the financial industry, data modeling, and data management, as well as a university degree in a relevant field.

Job description

As a Data Management Specialist, you will lay the groundwork for Julius Baer’s strategic transformation by helping to design and oversee data management standards and processes.

Tasks

  • Take on the challenge of advancing this initiative during my maternity leave until the end of March 2027
  • Co-design and monitor data management standards and processes
  • Co-design and monitor bank-wide data product standards and processes
  • Work closely with representatives from front-office business units and supporting functions such as Legal, Compliance, Finance, Operations, Enterprise Architecture, and IT
  • Enable and co-create business data models in accordance with corporate, industry, and architectural standards

Requirements

  • A completed university degree or equivalent, preferably in natural sciences, business informatics, banking, or finance
  • Several years of experience in metadata management, data dictionaries, information architecture, data lines, reference data, and business glossaries
  • Experience in the financial sector, banking sector
  • Familiarity with data modeling and data management tools in general (data dictionary, data lineage, etc.)
  • "Can-do" attitude
  • Strong in collaboration and advocacy; building an effective stakeholder network across departments and regions
  • Feeling comfortable challenging the status quo and managing escalations at all levels
