Data Officer – Business Application Support

Job description

As a Data Officer in the Business Application Support division, you play a key role in designing, managing, and implementing the bank’s data management, quality, and usage frameworks. You serve as the liaison between the business units and IT, combining strong data management expertise with business analysis skills to efficiently, sustainably, and compliantly understand, structure, and meet business data requirements. You will work closely with business users, application support teams, IT, and Compliance to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and regulatory compliance while maintaining a high level of service for internal users.

Tasks

Your responsibilities include the following:

• Serve as an interface between the business units and IT; collect, analyze, and formalize business data requirements.
• Ensure that the service is continuously available, that data-related processes are stable, and that user needs are met within the context of application support.
• Translate business requirements into clear, streamlined, and reusable data solutions to avoid duplication and improve efficiency.
• Support data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to deliver reliable, consistent, and well-documented data sets to business users.
• Help define and implement data management policies, data quality controls, and regulatory compliance (including the GDPR and other applicable regulations).
• Actively supporting digitalization initiatives by providing trustworthy, well-structured, and easily accessible data.

Your responsibilities include:

• Gathering, analyzing, and challenging business requirements through structured business analysis approaches.
• Understanding business processes and data usage to streamline and consolidate data requirements.
• Design and support data extraction and ETL processes to ensure data accuracy, traceability, performance, and proper documentation.
• Writing and optimizing SQL queries for reports, analyses, and operational data needs.
• Monitor, control, and continuously improve data quality, consistency, and integrity across supported applications.
• Contribute to, document, and enforce data management standards, data models, and best practices.
• Ensure that data protection, privacy, and internal control requirements are met in close collaboration with the Compliance and Risk Management departments.
• Providing a high level of service to users, striking a balance between responsiveness to daily inquiries and a long-term, sustainable data strategy.
• Collaborate with IT, Compliance, and the business units to support production stability, incident resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
