  • As a Data Officer within the Business Application Support function at EFG, you will play a pivotal role in shaping, managing, and ensuring the quality of data assets critical to the bank’s operations. With proven experience in data management and business analysis, you will structure, govern, and ensure data integrity, accessibility, and regulatory compliance.   • Your mission is to oversee, enhance, and implement the management, protection, and value realization of EFG’s core data assets. You will play a key role in defining and ensuring data governance frameworks, service continuity, the stability of data-related processes, change management, efforts to reduce data duplication, and the continuous creation of data across EFG’s technology and business platforms that meet all regulatory, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Serve as a key liaison between the business and IT, gathering, analyzing, and documenting requirements.
  • Ensure service continuity, the stability of data-related processes, and responsiveness to business and maintenance needs within the application support environment.
  • Translate business needs into clear, relational, and resilient data solutions that proactively mitigate the risk of data loss through duplication and improve efficiency.
  • Support data annotation, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to deliver resilient, responsive, and well-documented datasets.
  • Contribute to the definition and implementation of data governance policies, data quality procedures, and related controls, as well as regulatory compliance programs, ensuring consistent operational readiness and accessibility of data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and evaluate business requirements to develop an effective business analysis strategy.
  • Understand business processes and collaborate with stakeholders and IT to streamline and support data extraction and ETL processes, ensuring data accuracy, traceability, and documentation.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for reporting, analysis, and operational data delivery.
  • Monitor, control, and continuously improve data quality, consistency, and integrity across systems and processes.
  • Contribute to, document, and enforce data governance standards, data models, and workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection, privacy, and internal data requirements to manage compliance risk.
  • Provide a high level of service to users, balancing responsiveness to day-to-day requests with longer-term strategic improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with IT, Compliance, and business units to support production stability and to influence the management and protection of business data requirements.

Required Skills

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in data science, information management, computer science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data governance, data management, data quality, or data support roles, with a minimum of 5 years.
  • Experience in data extraction, ETL processes, and SQL.
  • Strong business analysis skills, with the ability to engage business users, challenge requirements, and prioritize initiatives.
  • A solid understanding of business needs to streamline processes, standardize requirements, and define necessary policies.
  • Strong knowledge of data protection regulations (GDPR, etc.) and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency with data management tools and platforms (ETL databases, data catalogs, data visualization, etc.).
