Data Platform Manager (Full-Time) (f/m/d)
The Julius Baer Group is seeking a Data Platform Manager to take on the technical leadership and lifecycle management of a global data platform (Data Lake House) and ensure that it meets business requirements, architectural standards, and operational resilience. The successful candidate will be part of an agile team and will be responsible for the technical design, development, and operational performance of the platform.
Tasks
- As a Data Platform Responsible (PR), you are responsible for the end-to-end technical leadership and lifecycle management of a global data platform (Data Lake House) to ensure alignment with business requirements, architectural standards, and operational stability.
- Work closely with product owners, platform owners, system architects, and IT service owners to support technical decisions and oversee solution designs.
- Oversee the technical design, development, and operational performance of the platform to ensure comprehensive lifecycle management and compliance with corporate standards.
- Contribute to the platform’s technical roadmap, including technology changes, modernization, and decommissioning, in alignment with business and architectural strategies.
- Take the lead and contribute to key deliverables, including solution design, security concepts, and interface agreements, to ensure compliance with architectural standards in collaboration with the system architect.
- Plan and coordinate application releases in accordance with change and release management processes, in collaboration with the product owner, platform owner, and IT service owners.
- Monitor platform infrastructure and data development activities, promote "shift-left" practices (automation, unit testing, CI/CD), and ensure that functional and non-functional requirements are implemented robustly.
- Provide third-level support, serve as the master data custodian in JBAR, and manage suppliers for third-party applications, including performance and delivery monitoring.
- Estimate the effort required for changes, advise on technical risks and mitigation strategies, assist with budgeting, and ensure that technical requirements are properly validated and tested before approval.
- You are responsible for the global data platform, which provides global data for various analytical use cases, and ensure that a stable, continuously operating environment is maintained.
- Assist the system architect in identifying and managing technical debt.
- Support the business lead and the IT product owner in designing and implementing the platform service.
- Collaboration with support teams in Asia to ensure extended support hours.
Requirements
- Experience in the technical implementation of data platforms, including the use of the latest technologies, tools, formats, and concepts.
- Experience managing the entire platform lifecycle, from conception and design through development, testing, deployment, operation, and eventual decommissioning, including responsibility for master data, incident support, and the release of ETL/SSIS scaling, Docker management using Harbor, image deployment via CI/CD pipelines, and Kubernetes scaling.
- Higher education in computer science (university, university of applied sciences, or equivalent degree).
- Excellent communication and planning/coordination skills.
- Willingness to contribute new ideas and initiate change, and sees oneself as proactive and reliable
