Data Platform Manager (Full-Time) (f/m/d)

Tasks

• Ensure end-to-end technical leadership and lifecycle management of a global data platform (Data/Lake House) to guarantee alignment with business needs, architectural and technology standards, and operational resilience.
• Close collaboration with product owners, platform owners, and IT service owners; providing support for technical decisions, overseeing solution design, and ensuring governance for architecture, security, and release management.
• Key technical stakeholder in the technical design of a global platform based on cloud infrastructure.
• Participate in the agile setup and support the development team.
• Lead the technical design, development, and operational performance of the platform while ensuring alignment with business needs, architecture, lifecycle management, and compliance with corporate standards.
• Contribute to the platform's technical roadmap, including technology changes, modernization, and decommissioning, in alignment with business and architecture strategies.
• Take responsibility for and contribute to key deliverables, including solution design, security concepts, and implementations; ensure compliance with architectural standards in collaboration with the platform architecture team and the Interface Management System Architect.
• Planning and coordinating application releases in accordance with the change and release management guidelines for production operations, in collaboration with the Product Owner, Platform Owner, and IT Service Owner.
• Ensuring the robust implementation of "functional" requirements (automation, unit testing, CI/CD).
• Providing third-level support, serving as the Master Data Custodian in JAR, and managing vendor and third-party applications, including monitoring performance and delivery.
• Estimation of the effort required for changes, consultation on technical risks and their mitigation, and assistance with budgeting; review of technical responses to functional and technical aspects and counteroffers.
• Responsibility for the global data platform, which provides global data for various business cases, and ensuring a functional and stable environment.
• Support the System Architect in identifying and managing technical debt.
• Support the Business Owner and the IT Product Owner in designing platform services.
• Collaborating with support teams in Asia to improve the support process.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience with data platforms, data lakes, and data lake houses (Snowflake, Databricks, distributed storage such as S3/HDFS)—preferably on-premises.
• Several years of experience in a similar position in the financial industry.
• Experience in leading the technical direction of data platforms, staying up to date on architectural solutions, AWS and cloud provider technologies, collaborating on best practices, and exploring opportunities in tooling, formats, and concepts.
• Experience managing the entire platform lifecycle—from concept and design through testing, deployment, and operations to decommissioning—including responsibility for CI/CD pipeline setup, operational tooling, documentation, maintenance, monitoring, budgeting, key issues, and the definition of KPIs to support the solution’s SLA management.
• Knowledge of IT service architecture, cloud platforms, network architecture concepts, and security.
• A strong technical foundation as an experienced programmer in Java/Kotlin, SQL, or similar languages, with excellent application development skills.
• Proficiency in container-based technologies, microservices design, cloud provider services, and best practices (Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation (e.g., GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, CodePipeline, GitLab CI, Terraform, CloudFormation).
