DataOps Service & Governance Engineer
EFG International is seeking an IT Data Service Manager who will be responsible for monitoring and managing data interfaces and ensuring the quality and reliability of data processing operations. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in operational governance, documentation management, or service management, and will possess strong analytical and communication skills.
Job Description
The DataOps Service & Governance Engineer role involves overseeing the reliable and efficient operation of all data interfaces supported by our data platform. This includes a wide range of interfaces, from critical order-processing flows to standard analytical and reporting systems.Focus of activities
The main tasks include:- Coordination of operational activities related to data integration services, including release and change management, quality assurance, SLA monitoring, and comprehensive SOP documentation.
- Monitoring and ensuring the smooth operation of critical business processes, and serving as the primary point of contact for SLA and process-related issues.
- Development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with internal standards, audit requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with IT, production support, and business teams to strengthen governance around data integration processes and ensure that documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and applied consistently.
- Ensuring the traceability, consolidation, and regular updating of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to SLAs, operational quality, and service reliability.
- Prepare for and contribute to regular performance reviews and reporting, highlighting risks, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Improve internal teams by gathering stakeholder feedback, identifying weaknesses, and proposing improvements to SOPs and workflows in collaboration with the line manager.
- Support for problem-solving and problem management from a governance perspective (e.g., post-incident documentation, lessons learned, and tracking of corrective actions).
- Promoting effective communication and coordination among teams to support operational excellence and a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements and qualifications
The requirements include:- At least 3 years of experience in operational governance, document management, service management, or PMO roles in a data-driven or IT environment (e.g., data platforms, integration, production support).
- Proven experience in managing and monitoring SLAs and SOPs, with the ability to structure, validate, implement, and track procedures.
- Strong writing, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to produce clear, precise, and audit-ready documentation.
- Experience in tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), preparing service quality reports, and presenting results to senior management and stakeholders.
- A solid understanding of data integration and data platform environments; knowledge of Kafka, OPCN orchestration, microservice architectures, and REST-based communications is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and to foster collaboration between teams
