Deputy Head of PBS

The position of Deputy Head of Private Banking Support (PBS) in London involves the strategic management and implementation of first-line controls within the private banking business, as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations of the PBS team. The incumbent must be a proactive, hands-on leader with strong organizational, analytical, and leadership skills to tackle complex operational challenges and deliver results in a dynamic, international environment.

Job description

The position of Deputy Head of Private Banking Support (PBS) is a key leadership role that supports the Head of PBS in the strategic management and implementation of first-line controls within the Private Banking business. The Deputy is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the PBS team and ensures that all activities within the scope of client lifecycle management—including account openings, CIP updates, and relationship reviews—are carried out effectively and in compliance with the highest standards of operational excellence and regulatory compliance.

Tasks and responsibilities

The main duties and responsibilities include:
  • Operations Management: Leading and overseeing the end-to-end delivery of processes within the framework of client lifecycle management
  • Process Improvement and Risk Management: Developing and Refining Operational Frameworks and Processes
  • Quality Assurance and Risk Management: Leading initiatives to improve the quality of client lifecycle management submissions
  • Production and Analysis of Management Information: Preparation and presentation of management information to the Head of PBS and relevant committees
  • People Leadership and Development: Leading the PBS team as the first line of management with full technical responsibility for the team’s output and daily workflows

Requirements

The position requires:
  • A college degree and at least 10 years of experience in the financial sector, preferably in private banking in an international setting
  • A deep understanding of initial due diligence and client lifecycle management processes, as well as strong knowledge of the tools and procedures used in private banking support
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex or poorly defined operational problems and develop long-term solutions
  • The ability to develop, communicate, and implement business strategies to guide the development of new policies and ideas
