DevOps Engineer
The DevOps Engineer job at Julius Baer involves the design, development and testing of software modules to ensure optimal functionality and integration within complex systems. The employee will drive standardization and automation and support the migration of applications to cloud-native stack and common platforms.
Job description
12 months contract - DevOps Engineer (Through an external agency payroll provider)
Tasks
- Drivers for standardization and automation within Julius Baer GPS Technology
- Driving forward the onboarding of our applications on the cloud native stack
- Drive onboarding of our teams on common platforms (observability frameworks, ...)
- Support in promoting the engineering culture within your team
- Contribute to the future software solution strategy of Julius Baer's GPS division as part of a highly collaborative team
- Support for the maintenance of shared platforms within GPS
- Demonstrate appropriate values and behaviors, including but not limited to standards of honesty and integrity, reasonable care and diligence, fair treatment (fair treatment of clients), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous professional development, appropriate risk management and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Requirements
Professional and technical background
- Relevant higher education qualification and professional background with at least 5 years of experience
- Significant CICD experience (Jenkins, GitLab, Maven)
- Scripting skills (bash)
- Ability to work on Linux infrastructure
- Kubernetes deployments and experience with distributed architectures
- Experience with Azure Application Platform, especially AKS
- Development background (e.g. Java, .NET, Scala, Python, JavaScript)
- Deep architectural experience and ability to elicit non-functional requirements and document system designs
- Good understanding of communication stacks (e.g. RabbitMQ, Kafka, gRPC, web sockets)
- Observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana/ELK, Dynatrace/AppDynamics)
