Director, Finance Technology
As Director of Finance Technology at Northern Trust, you will lead the development and operation of financial technology platforms as well as reporting and compliance processes. This hybrid position in Chicago requires extensive leadership experience in the financial sector as well as technical expertise in architecture and data management.
Role in the Mission
- As a Director of Finance Technology, you will be responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and direction in developing Northern Trust's finance technology capabilities and platforms, and for overseeing their implementation, drawing on a deep, personalized understanding of how technology can support Northern Trust Finance and its finance technology customers, as well as the company's financial business strategy.
- The individual is expected to work with the Finance Reporting, Regulatory Accounting, and Technology teams across the enterprise in the field of enterprise capital markets operations.
- Key areas of responsibility include finance technology platforms, reporting and accounting roles (data enablement), U.S. RGA/ICA data intake, planning and forecasting, risk management, capital adequacy, and technology controls.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and coordination when dealing with the various business lines within Finance.

- Consider the early delivery of work, stability, and risks associated with the finance platform across Planning, ALM, Data, and Regulatory Reporting
- Ensure that the platform meets regulatory, audit, SOX, and corporate governance requirements, with robust processes and executability
- Business Partners:
- Works with finance and treasury leadership to translate business and regulatory requirements into a scalable finance platform
- Provide clear visibility into technical details regarding risks, dependencies, and delivery teams
- Engaging, Escalating, and Tracking
- Lead and develop a high-performing, product-focused team.
- Leads as an independent executive in daily operations, system upgrades, and product success
- Streamline workforce management and enhance sustainability through talent development and succession planning

Required Qualifications
- Senior technology leadership experience in finance, accounting, or regulatory platforms within a regulated financial services environment.
- A strong technical foundation based on your hands-on engineering or architecture experience.
