Director
Northern Trust is seeking a Director in Chicago who will be responsible for the strategic direction and implementation of cloud technologies, particularly Azure, as well as for leading enterprise programs. The position requires at least two years of leadership experience, in-depth technical expertise, and the ability to solve complex operational problems.
Tasks
- Is committed to leveraging technology to create secure, relevant, and personalized experiences for clients.
- This role provides the structure and visibility needed to foster a deep technical career path for an innovative problem solver, critical thinker, and power user.
- Implements business plans, policies, and procedures related to the fintour Renewal and Portfolio Accounting engine.
- Ensures that business strategy is translated into a technology plan and successfully implemented, while ensuring the efficient use of the NT Architecture.
- Provides advisory services to both technology and business partners, ensuring transparency in the planning of all technology activities.
- Ensures that the purpose and value of tech activities are clearly communicated.
- Identifies and solves complex operational and organizational problems by making appropriate use of resources within or outside the department.
- Guided by the organization's functional business plans, contributes to the department's results by supporting projects, products, services, and/or technologies.
Requirements
- An experienced multidisciplinary professional with extensive technical and/or business knowledge and functional expertise in Azure, databases, operations, and reporting.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required, along with the ability to put them into practice effectively.
- Strong understanding of cloud technologies; demonstrates thought leadership and innovation in emerging technology practices.
- Highly flexible and able to adapt to change.
- Technical skills and systems knowledge (e.g., Azure, design of large-scale, high-performance systems, and system resilience and failover) are required.
- Leadership and organizational skills are required to set the business unit's goals and to assess and develop the skills of staff.
- Applies knowledge of key business drivers and the factors that maximize departmental performance.
- At least 2 years of leadership experience leading enterprise-level strategic programs.
We offer
- Salary Range: $164,600–288,000 USD.
- The salary range is a good-faith estimate of base pay.
