Director, U.S. Finance

Man Group is seeking a Director of U.S. Finance in New York City to lead the fixed-income team and oversee strategic planning and compliance reporting. The candidate should have at least five years of experience in asset management, a CPA designation, and a thorough understanding of SEC regulations.

Responsibilities

Team Management & Integration

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of fixed-income professionals within Man Group North America, supporting strategy development within the firm in accordance with Man Group’s core values, driving engagement, and fostering a positive culture of open communication.
  • Oversee the entire income statement and balance sheet to ensure that treasury, capital, and regulatory reporting requirements are all met, operational constraints are appropriately managed with the strictest confidentiality, and high-impact issues are resolved promptly and transparently with relevant stakeholders.
  • Oversee the entire enterprise-wide strategic planning process and ensure that the implementation of both short-term and long-term business plans aligns with Man Group’s goals, key performance indicators (KPIs), and targets as defined by senior leadership. Ensure accurate and timely compliance with relevant policies and procedures, as well as any additional relevant obligations, including but not limited to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF), Know Your Customer (KYC), etc.

Technical Accounting & Reporting

  • Serve as the primary accountants and provide detailed reports related to financial statements and disclosures in accordance with Man Group policies, procedures, and reporting requirements as mandated by the SEC or other regulatory agencies.
  • Work with tax preparation teams and tax specialists to complete annual tax returns in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, including W-9 filings, IRS form submissions, VAT invoicing, sales tax payments, and other tax-related expenses.
  • Support treasury operations and ensure that timely recording activities are performed in accordance with the firm’s accounting standards and policies, including, but not limited to, accruals, prepayments, deferrals, capitalization of interest, depreciation, amortization, and other financial charges.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of accounting principles, regulatory reporting requirements, and how they apply to Man Group’s activities, including regulatory filings, board materials, investor relations documentation, and auditor reports.
  • Prepare monthly or quarterly financial results reports for the Board of Directors and other stakeholders as required by GAAP and IFRS, including unaudited, non-GAAP, and reconciling figures.

Regulatory & Audit

  • As Lead Compliance Officer, I am responsible for Man Group’s regulatory filings, including Form 99-NFTR, return on equity tests, and tax provision calculations and reporting requirements outlined in the form, section, and Article XI.
  • Manage the entire audit cycle, preparing bank and other financial statements, internal controls, and reconciliation schedules in accordance with GAAP and IFRS, as well as providing support to the internal audit function as needed to ensure their quality and completeness.
  • Work with the audit committee and external auditors to review and validate the financial statements, internal controls, and related-party transactions.

Business Development & Stakeholder Management

  • Leads strategic growth initiatives and develops strong client relationships, fostering trust, credibility, and resilience within the financial industry.
  • Work with Client Service partners who contribute to overall revenue growth, organic channel strategy, and service level agreements.
  • Collaborate with all major financial institutions that are trading partners and/or competitors to achieve the best possible outcomes for Man Group’s clients, investors, creditors, suppliers, licensors, and other stakeholders.
  • Generate strong sales pipelines and foster positive customer experiences by maintaining regular communication with key clients (including financial institutions and end clients) and providing proactive support to resolve issues promptly and efficiently.

Global Collaboration

  • Coordinate cross-functional projects across geographies and business lines, aligning Man Group’s goals, objectives, and strategies with those of Man Group Corporation and Group subsidiaries worldwide.
  • Collaborate with other Man Group businesses and departments, coordinating business development activities around the world.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement corporate strategy and governance frameworks across global operations.
