Discretionary Accounts Control - Associate

The position as Discretionary Accounts Control Associate at JPMorgan Chase in Geneva involves serving as the first line of defense in monitoring discretionary accounts, validating investment parameters, and analyzing and resolving post-trade exceptions. The role requires experience in controls, risk, or audit within the financial services sector, as well as strong Excel and communication skills.

Tasks

  • Support the ongoing monitoring of trust accounts and provide daily monitoring support to the portfolio management teams to ensure that all exceptions are properly recorded in the systems and that consistent standards are applied
  • Validating the investment parameters signed by clients and ensuring that all changes are accurately recorded in the core systems
  • Monitoring trust accounts for violations or overspending and ensuring that such issues are properly investigated, escalated, documented, and resolved
  • Representing the team on committees and contributing to policies and procedures
  • Support for risk metrics, exception management, and mandate governance and monitoring
  • Preparation (and, on occasion, regional high-quality management information for regional senior management and leadership)
  • Conduct monthly reviews with the regional investment team leads to discuss post-trade exceptions, trends, root causes, and corrective actions
  • Conducting tests for system enhancements, new releases, and product launches to ensure that control requirements are met
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit, Compliance, and other control functions to address findings and strengthen the control environment
  • Participate in projects and strategic initiatives as directed by the Head of Discretionary Control to support the discretionary portfolio offering

Requirements

  • Experience in controls, risk, audit, or governance in the financial services sector
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize effectively
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to create clear and concise reports
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across teams
  • Professional maturity, independence, and ease in handling confidential data
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken
  • Strong Interest in Financial Markets and Investment Products
  • Motivation to Build a Career in Wealth Management & Investment Services at a Private Bank
  • Client-focused experience in wealth management, custody, or risk management

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in private banking is a plus
  • Additional language skills besides English
  • Knowledge of analytics and automation tools (e.g., Python, Alfreda, Tableau, Qlik Sense) is a plus
  • Experience in project management or change management
