EMEA Cost Controller (Associate)

As an EMEA Cost Controller at Nomura in London, you will be responsible for monthly reporting and budget planning for the global investment businesses. You will also provide strategic advice to senior management and support the implementation of financial processes and ESG initiatives.

Tasks

  • Manage the production of monthly global investment spend and related management information for global investment operations groups and asset classes
  • Act as a business partner to transform the office, leveraging the team's skills and experience to meet business unit requirements and deadlines
  • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting cycle
  • Various ad hoc tasks, including: responding to data queries from different teams
  • Set up and spearhead improvements in reporting processes and tools
  • Work with internal teams to implement global and regional strategies, budgets, and other activities, as well as other tasks as needed
  • Broader cost advisory role – Specifically relating to, but not limited to, client-facing work, provide input to and collaborate with Business Unit Senior Leaders, Corporate Finance functions, and Finance Transformation and Delivery teams
  • Leading the preparation of commercial, strategic, and financial presentations to support the business and business cases related to the role of the Cost Center Manager and the Group CFO division
  • Working with senior business unit leaders to understand business objectives, driving the achievement of these objectives, and supporting leadership in decision-making and strategic planning
  • Providing financial advice on key business decisions to senior management, board members, and other interested parties throughout the firm, as well as external stakeholders, including providing input to and collaborating with Business Unit Senior Leaders, Corporate Finance functions, and Finance Transformation and Delivery teams
  • Establish and manage the Cost Center Management function across the Global Investment Business in accordance with the Group CFO division
  • Serve as the central point of contact for the Global Investment Business and provide support to the Global CFO
  • Provide monthly management information to the Global Investment Business
  • Prepare and deliver monthly investment spend presentations to the Global Investment Business and the CFO division
  • Provide financial advice to the Global Investment Business and the CFO division
  • Develop and provide financial reports to the Global Investment Business and the CFO division
  • Present financial data to the CFO division in a clear and concise format
  • Work closely with Internal Control and Risk Management to ensure the delivery of accurate, reliable, and timely financial reports
  • Work closely with the Internal Audit team to ensure the delivery of accurate, reliable, and timely financial reports
  • Support the Global Investment Business in the implementation of new systems and processes
  • Support the Global Investment Business in the development of new products and services
  • Support the Global Investment Business in the development of new products, services, and processes, and ensure compliance with legal obligations
  • Provide financial advice to Global Financial Services, including the Global Investment and Corporate Access Group and the Corporate Access Group (CAG) division
  • Work with the Global CFO division to promote the Group's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework globally and locally and deliver improved ESG outcomes in line with the Group's expectations
  • Develop and provide ESG reports to the Global Investment Business and the CFO division
  • Present financial and ESG data to the CFO division in a clear and concise format
  • Work closely with Internal Control and Risk Management to ensure the delivery of accurate, reliable, and timely ESG reporting
