EMEA FX & EM Product Control (Vice President)

The position of Vice President EMEA FX & EM Product Control at Nomura in London involves responsibility for all aspects of control and communication with the front office, risk management, and other finance teams. Job Description

The role is in the EMEA FX & EM Product Control team. This business encompasses flow and options trading departments as well as more complex structured products. These businesses are both diverse and complex, encompassing a wide range of trading strategies and products, including but not limited to exotic options, structured note issuances, deal-dependent transactions, and a spectrum of non-linear interest rate products.

Tasks

The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of control and communication with the front office, risk management, IT, middle office, and other finance teams. The candidate will be one of the financial points of contact for the business on new products and new transactions. He or she will also be responsible for performing transaction valuations, including PL recognition and reservation, deal review, financial metrics review, and reporting and presentation to local and global senior finance management teams.
  • Manage reporting of comprehensive daily trading P&L and balance sheet, including P&L statement with detailed commentary covering PT, drivers, trading activities, key positions, and market context.
  • Performing intelligent analyses and challenging business performance, trading activities, use of financial resources, and compliance with governance requirements.
  • New deal analysis with responsibility for coordinating finance-wide reviews of new products and new transactions and reporting conclusions to management.
  • Owner of the business relationship, validation of PL numbers, PL recognition challenges, and reservation requirements.
  • Responsibility for calculating financial resources and returns on new transactions, as well as understanding all aspects of financial resource consumption, such as capital, balance sheet, and leverage exposure for the business.
  • Stakeholder management across trading, risk, middle office, operations, and IT.
  • Monitoring of key controls and reconciliations, compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Constantly challenging the status quo and seeking opportunities to improve the control environment, adhering to best practice and control standards.
  • Ensuring that all activities are conducted in full compliance with Product Control guidelines and procedures and Nomura's internal guidelines and policy standards.
  • Representing the interests of finance in important company-wide projects.
