EMS Business Analyst - Platform Transformation

The Julius Baer Group is seeking an experienced business analyst for platform transformation in the Execution Management Systems (EMS) division in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and implementing business requirements, as well as coordinating platform changes to enhance trading capabilities and global operational consistency.

Tasks

As an EMS Business Analyst - Platform Transformation, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining sustainable products (services, applications, or tools) that meet customer needs throughout the entire product lifecycle. You will work closely with the Product Manager.

Key Features of the Position

The position involves the following tasks:
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to identify, analyze, and document business requirements for EMS improvements and platform transitions.
  • Develop comprehensive business specifications, including epics, initiatives, objectives, and key results, in partnership with product managers and product owners.
  • Conducting gap analyses to understand current EMS functionalities and execution workflows and compare them with future platform capabilities.
  • Translating the product strategy into actionable deliverables such as user stories, process diagrams, acceptance criteria, and traceable requirements documentation.
  • Coordinate the implementation of the new Global EMS platform, working closely with external suppliers, IT teams, and control functions to ensure timely and compliant delivery.

Trading & System Expertise

You should have in-depth knowledge in the following areas:
  • Order routing, order execution, and all trade lifecycle events in electronic trading environments.
  • Pre-trade compliance mechanisms, including suitability assessments, credit management, and risk management.

Regulatory Responsibilities & Risk Management

You are responsible for:
  • Compliance with all legal, regulatory, and internal compliance standards, particularly those relating to the trading report, conduct risk, and customer protection.
  • Upholding the principles of integrity, transparency, and diligence; proactively escalating potential risks or control gaps.
  • Full compliance with company-wide policies, procedures, and ethical standards, while taking responsibility in high-pressure, fast-paced project environments.

Personnel & Social

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage senior stakeholders, technical teams, and regulatory authorities with clarity and precision.
  • The ability to influence others without direct authority, navigate matrix-style organizations, and build consensus across diverse groups.
  • The ability to perform under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and uncertainties while maintaining delivery excellence.
  • Experience with agile methods, active participation in sprints, backlog refinement, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • A team-oriented mindset with a commitment to collective success and continuous learning.

Professional & Technical

  • At least 7 years of experience as a business analyst, preferably in investment banking or capital markets, with proven experience in technology and systems.
