Engineering Manager - Market Data

Tasks

• Leading a team of six high-performing engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Setting the team's strategic direction, defining the technical roadmap, and aligning with the broader goals of Data Engineering and Technology
• Continues to work as a hands-on engineer, making direct contributions to the codebase and serving as a role model for technical design and implementation
• Conducting commercial and technical discussions with external data providers, maintaining relationships, and ensuring that the company’s data requirements are met
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders from systematic trading, discretionary research, and technology to translate requirements into successful deliverables
• Promoting the adoption of AI-powered development tools within the team to accelerate delivery and boost engineering productivity
• Responsibility for the operational excellence of a multi-petabyte, low-latency market data platform that processes billions of data points daily

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in software development
• Experience with real-time market data feeds
• Experience in executing and delivering complex projects of exceptionally high quality
• In-depth knowledge of one or more relevant technologies such as kdb+, ZeroMQ, or Kafka
• Expertise in large-scale distributed systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with performance optimization and large data processing
• Ability to translate stakeholder requirements into successful outcomes
• Adoption of agile/engineering methods - Willingness and ability to collaborate effectively with AI-powered development tools
• Strong academic background and a degree with a high mathematical and computer science content, e.g., computer science, mathematics, engineering, or physics
