Enterprise Data Architect

Tasks

• Leading teams in evaluating the effectiveness of the end-to-end design of the data platform infrastructure
• Responsibility for the functional design and implementation of data platform capabilities that enable the real-time delivery of data throughout the entire data infrastructure lifecycle—from real-time collection and storage to delivery to consumers in their preferred format
• Primary focus on supporting complex business rules for architecture and implementation during the development of the data model
• Establishing standards for development and technology within our ETL (stored procedures, extract scripts), schema management (Git, SQL), model management systems (e.g., Alation/Data Catalog—Data Domain or Looker), and data platform monitoring (Datadog, PowerBI, Snowflake)
• On-call support when our infrastructure encounters problems
• Alignment with evolving data strategies, data models, data protocols, and data warehouse ecosystems that target all of the company's products and feeds
• Lead team brainstorming sessions to ensure that our data platform commands, dimensional data sets, data modeling, standards, analyses, and testing frameworks are fully covered and kept up to date with all changes to the company's products
• Proactive development of the Snowflake roadmap and development of Snowflake using data warehouse expertise
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of governance, transformation, and best practices to identify solutions to business challenges and provide recommendations for implementation
• Expertise in setting up and managing Snowflake services, designing the environment, and ensuring a thorough understanding of systems, including existing and new APIs, data flows, data loads, metric sets, and aggregates
• Snowflake's architecture, which maintains optimal performance without incurring high resource and compute costs
• Creation and maintenance of a well-documented data dictionary and metadata using table-based document repositories, user-domain design tools, and other modern engineering practices
• Support for data design projects, including establishment and governance
• Development of data implementations and proactive involvement in active business decisions (governance and execution)
• Development of new datasets and architectures for several areas of the company, including data models, data catalogs, data cataloging, and data management governance
• Providing support for multiple business and functional workstreams for each workstream

Requirements

• Strong expertise in at least one of the following skill sets:
  • Data Platform Architect (e.g., Big Data Platform, Single Enterprise Data Platform)
  • Data modeling (e.g., data model, data catalog, metastore)
• Expertise in developing and defining the use of Snowflake Data Warehouse on Azure
• Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa-related employment support (either now or in the future).
