ESG Expert

As an ESG expert on the Sustainability & Strategy Office team at an Austrian bank, you will develop and implement solutions to meet regulatory requirements in the areas of sustainability and the circular economy. You will support internal and external stakeholders and, ideally, have a college degree as well as knowledge of ESG, the EU taxonomy, and the CSRD.

  • Together with the team, you will identify action items related to the circular economy, develop and implement solutions to meet regulatory requirements, and continuously refine these solutions.
  • In doing so, they support the company's internal and external stakeholders in the area of sustainability.

What you bring to the table

  • You have successfully completed a degree, ideally in sustainability, business administration, economics, law, natural sciences, or a related field.
  • You are eager to learn and fascinated by the innovative and forward-looking field of sustainability.
  • Knowledge of ESG, CSR, the EU Taxonomy, and the CSRD is particularly advantageous.
  • You possess analytical thinking skills and the ability to understand and interpret complex requirements and translate them into practical recommendations for action.
  • You work independently, have a structured approach to your work with a high degree of personal responsibility, collaborate effectively as part of a team, and communicate professionally at all levels both within and outside the bank.
  • Excellent written and spoken German (additional knowledge of English or French is a plus).
  • Fluency in German (spoken and written) as well as advanced English and other language communication skills in a business context (e.g., negotiations with customers, suppliers, or other business partners).
  • Ideally, you will have professional experience in the field of sustainability and demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new regulatory issues and technologies.
  • In addition, knowledge of the EU Taxonomy Regulation, the CSRD, and other relevant sustainability standards is preferred.

We offer

  • The salary for this full-time position ranges from 3,950 to 5,171 euros gross per month, plus vacation pay and an annual bonus. The exact amount of the salary depends on the employer’s qualifications and experience.
  • This position is governed by the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Employees in the Private Sector (KVWG, Employees). We offer a fair and performance-based compensation system that requires proficiency in German—both spoken and written—within the DACH region.
