Tasks

• Collaborate with data analysts to identify data requirements and define the optimal data model.
• Development and optimization of complex SQL transformations to support analytics, reporting, and financial and regulatory requirements.
• Work on and contribute to existing enterprise data models (Data Vault, dimensional models, 3NF, data-driven structures).
• Ensuring that the SQL logic is high-performing, maintainable, and compliant with modeling standards.
• Implementation and maintenance of data quality checks, validation rules, and SQL tests.
• Maintenance of clear documentation, data lineage, and metadata to support transparency and governance.
• Support in reducing architectural debt and assistance in maintaining a clean, consistent data environment.
• Development and maintenance of SQL-based ETL/EL data pipelines.
• Use Python wherever it offers benefits for automation, API integration, or workflow efficiency.
• Implementation of ingestion patterns for batch, incremental, and near-real-time data flows.
• Ensuring monitoring, observability, and reliable operation of data workflows.
• Structuring SQL data sets that are optimized for BI use.
• Support with data preparation, extraction logic, and backend performance.
• Support for dashboard and report designers in troubleshooting, prototyping, and governance.
• Collaborate with finance, risk, compliance, and business teams to translate requirements into high-quality data solutions.
• Work more closely with data architects to ensure compliance with modeling standards.
• Support for troubleshooting across ingestion, modeling, and operational processes.
• Contributions to platform development, engineering improvements, and roadmap initiatives.
• Effective communication with both technical and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• In-depth expertise in SQL development, data modeling, and stakeholder collaboration to deliver high-quality, reliable, and business-critical datasets.
• Focus on building and optimizing SQL and ETL/EL data pipelines and BI-supported datasets; high-performance SQL is the primary focus, while Python is a secondary/optional skill.
• Knowledge of languages and frameworks: SQL, Python (Jupyter/Lab), dbt, Spark SQL.
• Knowledge of data lakes: Databricks/Azure Data (Lakehouse/Big Data).
• Proficiency in BI and modeling tools: Tableau (or ThoughtWorks), SAP.
• Knowledge of orchestration: Azure Data Factory/Airflow.
• Cross-functional collaboration with finance, risk, compliance, business, and IT teams.
• Compliance Awareness: Working in Regulated Environments.
• Design and optimization of high-performance SQL transformations for analytics, reporting, and regulatory requirements.
