Expert Application Developer
The Swiss National Bank is seeking an Application Development Specialist (80–100%) in Zurich to develop and operate innovative solutions for data management and analysis. The position requires experience in software engineering, databases, data science, and AI, as well as a very good command of German.
Tasks
- Played a key role in the design, development, and integration of a high-performance data infrastructure—both through in-house developments (Java, Python) and by integrating third-party software;
- Ensuring the stable operation, further development, and ongoing maintenance of these data-driven applications and processes;
- Support for procurement processes—from requirements analysis and request for proposals through evaluation to seamless system integration;
- Managing interfaces and supporting business units in using the applications within complex business processes.
Requirements
- A college degree in computer science (master’s or doctorate) with a strong focus on software engineering, as well as in-depth knowledge of databases, data science, and AI;
- Experience in designing data-driven applications using Java (Spring Boot), SQL, and Python, as well as evaluating, procuring, and integrating third-party software;
- Experience: Translating business requirements into technical specifications and explaining complex IT solutions in a way that is understandable to business units without an IT background;
- A conceptual and systematic approach combined with a strong focus on implementation, as well as the motivation to quickly familiarize yourself with a challenging area of responsibility and take on that responsibility;
- Very good written and spoken German skills.
