Exposure Management Data Analyst 100% (f/m/d)
The Exposure Management Data Analyst at Julius Baer in Madrid is responsible for developing and validating data logic and designing reporting metrics in the area of security compliance. The role requires expertise in business intelligence (Tableau), data modeling, and Python scripting to ensure robust and reproducible security reports.
Tasks
- Support the Security & Compliance Manager in maintaining efficient security controls and ensuring that reported figures are free of uncertainties by designing, validating, and supporting the implementation of new key performance indicators that enable appropriate, risk-based governance.
- Development of formulas based on a sound logical framework that covers the required scope of reporting as of a specific cutoff date. As a central resource for quantitative methods, the definition of a metric is translated into a clear data extraction logic, with an emphasis on reproducibility, robustness, and documentation.
- Defining and maintaining a robust logical model in the data warehouse that enables the timely and reliable calculation of established report metrics and supports the development of new key performance indicators.
- Support for security and compliance reporting against a defined control framework through the integration of additional metrics and platform features.
- Exemplary leadership in developing the platform's governance, with a focus on continuously delivering value to the company through a reliable, transparent, and ethical approach.
- Improving the quality of safety reporting, including its impact on business decisions, by reducing errors.
- Defined key metrics for exposure domains being managed for the first time, as well as the rules governing the acceptance of future metrics. Led a small team by example and contributed to a highly functional group by developing clear, standardized, reusable, and verifiable reporting capabilities, with a focus on the quality of the underlying data.
- Design, validate, and support the implementation of an aggregated pre-service exposure reporting tool, as well as the rules for accepting future metrics. Propose the definition, documentation, and establishment of a maintenance model for the tool, starting with a minimum viable approach and iterating based on user feedback.
- Design, validation, and support for the implementation of an aggregated pre-service exposure reporting tool, which will initially be used to replace the manual compilation of responses to regulatory inquiries and will also highlight the need for—and feasibility of—regular, near-real-time reporting. This is being done in collaboration with data engineering partners, with a focus on the quality and reproducibility of the underlying data.
- Help shape the security reporting landscape by ensuring that security exposure reporting is based on verifiable logic, reproducible data sources, and defined thresholds for alerts and exceptions.
Requirements
- Practical expertise with an enterprise business intelligence platform (preferably Tableau); data modeling, calculated fields, level-of-detail expressions, extraction strategy, and performance tuning.
- Proven ability to design and document metrics and composite scores, including the weighting of missing data, sensitivity, and validation.
- Experience in defining a metric from scratch in an area where none exists, and in using, scaling, and involving stakeholders who are end users.
- Scripting for data transformation and automation, ideally in Python, with a commitment to maintainable, documented, and version-controlled work.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, engineering, information security, or a related field.
