Technical Translator (French to German) (80%)

Tasks

• They translate and transcribe a wide variety of documents in the fields of finance, business, marketing, law, pensions, IT, and more.
• You review the translations done by your internal and external colleagues.
• They edit texts written in German, taking into account the target audience and the appropriate technical terminology.
• They create image-related copy that requires a keen sense of language, tact, and creativity.
• You maintain a constructive dialogue with your internal and external clients (including senior management) to ensure that your translations are tailored to their needs in terms of both content and language.
• You will actively participate in the management of translation memories as well as in testing and implementing new translation technologies and processes.
• You will manage key translation projects and the assignment of work to external specialist translators in close collaboration with the team leader.

Your profile

• Native German speaker with fluent French; good English skills are a plus.
• Strong writing skills and a command of German style.
• A degree in translation or an equivalent college degree (e.g., in business, law, or journalism).
• Several years of experience translating financial, business, and legal texts. Candidates without a degree may also be considered if they have extensive relevant professional experience.
• You are highly proficient in standard CAT and MT tools and are interested in the latest translation technologies, particularly AI.
• As someone with strong organizational skills, you can keep a clear head even in hectic situations and are accustomed to working independently.
• You have a strong desire to learn, can advocate for your ideas, and enjoy working as part of a team.
