Facility and Maintenance Specialist

The Syz Group is seeking a Facility and Maintenance Specialist to oversee the upkeep and maintenance of buildings and facilities at its Swiss branches. The ideal candidate should have experience in a similar role, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to perform physical tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Job description

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Facility and Maintenance Specialist to take charge of facility logistics and building management at our Swiss offices in Geneva, Zurich, Lugano, and Locarno. In this key role, you will report to the Facility and Physical Security Manager and play a vital role in ensuring that our premises are safe, secure, and fully functional.

Tasks

- Facility Maintenance & Repairs: Ensure that the buildings are in excellent condition by performing routine repairs, such as painting, plumbing, fixing minor electrical issues, and general maintenance of the facilities. - Cleaning, Decontamination & Integrated Management: Ensure that common areas remain clean throughout the day, particularly that restrooms are stocked with supplies. - Logistics, Purchasing, Preventive Maintenance: Support and collaborate with the logistics/technical team to identify and document various issues with a cost-effective impact. - Physical Security Support: Performing tasks related to building security in collaboration with the Facility and Physical Security Manager.

Your profile

- Professional experience in a similar role in building management, hotel facility management, or a related field - Excellent knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, painting, and other repair and maintenance tasks - Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting and standing for extended periods - Flexibility to travel to other Syz locations in Switzerland or provide support outside standard working hours

Requirements

  • Knowledge of English and/or German is a plus
  • Valid driver's license (Class B or higher)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of documentation systems is a plus
  • At least a high school diploma; a degree in technical or operational fields is preferred
