Facility and Maintenance Specialist

The Facility and Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the maintenance and logistics of buildings in various Swiss branches of Bank Syz. The position includes tasks such as repairs, cleaning, security monitoring and technical installations to ensure a safe and fully functional working environment for employees.

Facility and Maintenance Specialist

Your tasks

  • Facility Maintenance & Repairs: Ensure the buildings are in excellent condition by performing routine "do-it-yourself" repairs, such as wall painting, plumbing, fixing minor electrical issues, and general maintenance of installations, traveling to other building locations as needed. Maintenance activities are required to ensure good condition of the other assets. Together with the Facility and Physical Security Manager, identify, coordinate and execute large repairs requiring coordinated resources. Ensure basic equipment and accessories needed to perform general repairs and refurnishments are ordered and available on site.
  • Cleaning Oversight & Hygiene Management: Ensure general cleanliness of certain areas during the day, especially ensuring that corridors are stocked with supplies throughout the day. Perform occasional deep cleaning tasks as needed, such as using a high-pressure water cleaner around the building and periodic cleaning of carpet with a machine. Ensure that any areas of deficiency or concern are reported to the outside vendors on the outside activities are carried out efficiently, minimizing disruption to daily operations. Contribute to technical premises installations (security, fire, heat, electricity, ventilation, air conditioning etc.)
  • Physical Security Support: Perform tasks related to building security in collaboration with the physical security manager. Be available on-call during nights and weekends when scheduled (one week/month) and respond to facility or security-related incidents as required. Introduce to maintaining the physical security of all premises are accurately assessed and thoroughly by the external Security Guard against your role as Fire Warden, Evacuation Officer and Emergency responder when required

Your profile

  • Proven experience in building maintenance, hotel facility maintenance, or a similar role
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical, engineering, work, painting, and other repair and technical maintenance. (Electrical background a plus)
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving office equipment and comfortably standing or walking for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in either Bank Syz's locations or to provide out standard hours support, both under short notice
  • Experience working with electrical contractors for larger repairs and maintenance projects

  • English and/or German an asset

Further requirements

  • Valid driving license (category B minimum)

IT skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of technical training is a plus (e.g. Physical access management, Fire Systems, building HVAC systems etc.)
