Facility and Maintenance Specialist

Syz Group is seeking a Facility and Maintenance Specialist who will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of buildings and facilities at its Swiss branches. The ideal candidate will have experience in building maintenance, technical knowledge, and a flexible, problem-solving approach to work.

Job description

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Facility and Maintenance Specialist to oversee facility logistics and building management at our Swiss offices in Geneva, Zurich, Lugano, and Locarno. In this key role, you will report to the Facility and Physical Security Manager and play a vital role in ensuring that our premises are safe, secure, and fully operational.

Tasks

- Facility Maintenance & Repairs: Ensure that the buildings are in excellent condition by performing routine repairs, such as painting, plumbing, fixing minor electrical issues, and general facility maintenance. - Cleaning Oversight & Hygiene Management: Ensure that specific common areas are kept clean throughout the day. Perform occasional deep cleaning tasks, such as using a pressure washer to clean the exterior of elevators. - Physical Health & Safety: Perform building security-related tasks in collaboration with the Facility and Physical Security Manager. Be available to respond to incidents and address health or safety issues at night and on weekends.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in building management, hotel facility management, or a similar role
  • Excellent knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, painting, and other repair and maintenance tasks (a background in electrical work is a plus)
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving office furniture and equipment, and standing for long periods of time
  • Flexibility to travel to other Swiss banking locations or provide support outside standard working hours
  • Experience working with contractors on major repair and maintenance projects

  • A problem-solver with the ability to resolve issues quickly and efficiently and adapt to new situations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
  • Security awareness, including a basic understanding of security protocols and a willingness to assist with physical security measures
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong verbal communication skills

Further requirements

  • Valid driver's license (Class B or higher)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of technical tools is a plus (e.g., physical access control, fire protection systems, building management systems, etc.)
