FIG Analyst, Bank Ratings & Capital Advisory (RAC) (London, UK)

Tasks

This role provides comprehensive insight into working with credit rating agencies and offers solutions to strengthen banks' credit profiles. Key responsibilities include:

• Support for existing clients and new business
• Analysis of rating agency methodologies and assessment of rating sensitivities and notching implications
• Detailed analysis of bank balance sheets, including asset quality, capital, debt, funding, and liquidity metrics
• Modeling capital and funding scenarios in accordance with rating agency frameworks
• Preparation of client materials, briefing notes, and analytical memos
• Monitoring regulatory and credit rating agency developments and assessing their impact on client ratings

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• A comprehensive understanding of bank balance sheets, income statements, and their interrelationships
• Strong understanding of regulatory capital metrics and funding metrics
• Strong attention to detail and analytical rigor
• Clear and precise communication skills for interacting with senior clients

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

• 1–3 years of experience in one or more of the following areas

Highly desirable:

• Initial or current experience in banking and financial valuation/analysis
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and capital instruments
• Ability to interpret and question rating methodology assumptions
• Structured thinking and quantitative skills
• Professional judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information
• A collaborative team player with strong personal integrity
• Enjoyment of working in international teams
