Job description
The position of FIG Analyst, Bank Ratings & Capital Advisory (RAC) offers senior staff and the C-suite/Treasury team the opportunity to work as analysts. This role requires a deep understanding of bank balance sheets, regulatory capital metrics, and the methodologies used by rating agencies.Tasks
The main tasks include:- Supporting existing consulting engagements and developing new business relationships
- Analysis of rating agency methodologies (particularly S&P, Moody’s, and Fitch) and assessment of rating sensitivities and notching effects
- Detailed analysis of bank balance sheets, including asset quality, capital, debt, financing, and liquidity metrics, within the framework of credit rating agencies
- Modeling of capital and funding scenarios, including the impact on CET1, AT1, Tier 2, and MREL/TLAC positions under the framework conditions of credit rating agencies
- Preparation of client materials, briefing notes, and analytical memos for internal and external use
- Monitoring regulatory and credit rating agency developments (e.g., EBA, ECB, PBA) and assessing their impact on clients' credit ratings
Requirements
The requirements for this position include:- Comprehensive understanding of bank balance sheets, income statements, and their interrelationships, including asset risks, profitability, capital allocation, funding, and liquidity, as well as off-balance-sheet liabilities
- Strong understanding of regulatory capital metrics (CET1, Tier 1, total capital, leverage ratio, RWAs) and funding metrics (LCR, NSFR)
- Strong attention to detail and analytical rigor
- Clear and precise communication skills, suitable for interactions with senior-level clients
Qualifications and experience
Essential qualifications and experience:- 1–3 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Technical expertise in the analysis of bank balance sheets
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and capital instruments
- Ability to interpret and question assumptions about rating methods
- Structured thinking and quantitative rigor
- Professional judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information
- A collaborative team player with strong personal integrity
- Enjoyment of working in international teams
