FIG Associate (Madrid, Spain)

The FIG Associate at Alantara in Madrid supports the team in M&A, lending, and restructuring transactions in the financial sector and must have at least three years of relevant experience as well as a master’s degree in finance.

Tasks

  • Management and support in the execution of corporate finance transactions (PLS, loan portfolios, loan recovery) and debt advisory engagements (LMA/ILPA, banks, lending platforms, M&A and restructuring, ABS, and related entities)
  • Conducting financial analyses, strategic business analyses, and detailed industry analyses, including valuation
  • Oversight and assistance in preparing data to support a transaction process or due diligence efforts during the process
  • Preparing and delivering client presentations in a clear and persuasive manner
  • Serving as a mentor and role model for junior analysts and interns
  • Active and up-to-date knowledge of buyers, sellers, our services, various types of M&A and restructuring transactions, and competitors
  • Effective Use of Databases, Programming Languages, and Other Research Tools
  • Market Research and Analysis of Various Industry Sectors
  • Support in the Due Diligence Process

Requirements

  • 3 years of relevant experience in credit solutions (structured finance and all types of SFABS deals). Experience in credit and M&A involving financial institutions is highly desirable
  • Master's degree in finance or a related field
  • An MBA or equivalent (CPA, CFA, ACCA) is highly desirable
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written); knowledge of other languages, particularly Portuguese, Spanish, German, or French, is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to communicate with senior management and clients, and to manage demanding shareholders and/or management teams, including key figures from publicly traded and privately held companies
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information
