Finance Specialist

The Finance Specialist at Julius Baer supports financial operations, contributes to the accuracy of financial reporting, and supports strategic decision-making processes through sound analysis. The position requires a strong academic background, 5-7 years of experience in finance, and good organizational and communication skills.

Tasks

As a Finance Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting and executing financial operations, contributing to the accuracy of financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making processes through sound analysis. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Forecasting & Planning: Assistance in preparing the annual budget and rolling forecasts.
  • Medium-term planning: Assistance in drawing up 3- and 5-year business plans.
  • Cost management: Reviewing costs and highlighting one-time/unplanned expenses. Taking initiative and providing insights/ideas for cost savings/optimization.
  • Business partnering: working closely with the CFO and Head of Business Finance to provide business information and insights to drive business development.
  • Finder Management: Assist the Head of Business Finance to ensure full compliance with the Finder policy.
  • Presentations: Creating high-quality presentations for various stakeholders.
  • Governance & Control: Ensuring compliance with financial policies, robust internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ad hoc analyses: Creation of business case models, reviews, and ad hoc analyses.

You will be working with the following teams:
  • Client management (internal and external)
  • Local, regional, and group-wide finance
  • Business management, operations, IT, compliance, risk
  • Auditor – under the guidance of the Head of Business Finance or the CFO

Requirements

For this position, we require:
  • Professional and technical skills
  • Strong academic background
  • CA/MBA or similar from reputable institutions with 5-7 years of professional experience after qualification
  • Experience in BFSI / Big 4 in consulting or advisory services. Experience in wealth management.
