Financial Accountant (m/f)

Glarner Kantonalbank is seeking a reliable and team-oriented individual to fill the position of Financial Accountant (m/f) on a 60–80% basis to join its Accounting team. The position offers a varied role with excellent opportunities for professional growth and attractive employment terms.

Job description

The Accounting Team develops the framework for the bank’s financial management, establishes appropriate guidelines as the bank’s “accounting conscience,” and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. To round out our team, we are looking for a reliable, engaging, and team-oriented individual who is also willing to deepen their knowledge and learn new things.

Tasks

  • Active involvement in day-to-day operations
  • Assistance in preparing monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual financial statements, including the preparation of management reports and the annual report
  • Assistance in preparing VAT and withholding tax returns, as well as any necessary regulatory or legal adjustments
  • Conducting ICS audits of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual financial statements
  • Acting Position in the Areas of Reporting, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable
  • Active participation in projects (e.g., digitization, process optimization, implementation of new software) and maintenance of the financial and accounting modules in Finnova and Abacus

Requirements

  • Completed basic commercial training and/or further training as an accounting clerk or equivalent training
  • Professional experience in accounting and, ideally, knowledge of FINMA RevV and FINMA RS 2020/1
  • A strong aptitude for numbers, analytical skills, and good communication skills
  • Interest in current developments in the field of accounting and regulatory reporting
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Proficiency in Abacus and/or Vordruck
