Financial Accountant (m/f/d) in Private Banking

Julius Baer is seeking a Financial Accountant for its Private Banking division in Frankfurt to assist with financial reporting in accordance with HGB/IFRS, value-added tax assessments, and the optimization of accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have a college degree or commercial training, as well as in-depth knowledge of bank accounting and taxation.

Tasks

  • Assisted with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB) and the Julius Baer Group’s IFRS accounting standards.
  • Tax assessment of business transactions with a focus on sales tax (including, among other things, sales tax documentation, mixed assessments, and mixed annual tax returns).
  • Shared responsibility for day-to-day accounting operations, particularly in the areas of general ledger posting, cash posting, interest accrual and amortization, securities accounting, etc.
  • Management and overview based on business transactions.
  • Actively contribute to the optimization and further development of accounting processes.
  • Point of contact (m/f/d) for external and internal inquiries.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or accounting, or a commercial apprenticeship followed by further training (e.g., certified accountant (m/f/d)).
  • One or more years of professional experience in accounting, ideally in the banking sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of tax matters, particularly in the area of sales tax (including group reporting).
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting under the German Commercial Code (HGB) and a good understanding of IFRS principles.
  • Experience in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Experience with Analan as a core banking system is desirable.
  • A strong aptitude for numbers and an understanding of complex data structures.
  • A structured, precise, and solution-oriented approach to work.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A continuous willingness to learn and the ability to adapt.
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English skills, as well as advanced proficiency in MS Office.
  • A high degree of discretion when handling sensitive financial and banking data.
