Financial Analyst, Performance & Initiative Manager 80–100% (f/m/d)

Tasks

• Conduct in-depth quantitative analyses (using the Management Information System) to identify P&L opportunities, trends, and insights at an early stage with regard to their impact on the P&L and the profitable use of balance sheet products, and define actionable measures to drive and improve the respective performance—including business performance (e.g., revenue/sales performance) and market performance (e.g., assets/business areas)—in key areas for front-office P&L initiatives
• Lead and coordinate initiatives that drive improvements in front-office P&L performance and engage key stakeholders across all key areas of the investment management organization—including concept development, implementation, and rollout, along with reporting and progress tracking (performance, benefits, profitability initiatives, etc.)—for the largest region within the Bank’s global wealth management business, ensuring maximum transparency in management meetings
• Prepare concise, insightful, and visually appealing presentations on various finance topics—especially for clients (e.g., analysis, insights, actionable measures, briefings, etc.) and management meetings
• Serve as a sparring partner for the Front Office on finance-related topics, liaising directly with senior management and key stakeholders across the bank (e.g., Accounting, Treasury, Credit, Credit Risk Management)
• Conduct business case assessments and market strategy reviews on a regular basis to support strategic financial decision-making
• Enhance the performance management and reporting framework to enable the tracking and implementation of Julius Baer’s long-term business strategy

Requirements

• Strong academic record: A university degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field, with above-average grades
• At least 2–3 years of experience in a comparable finance or related role with a focus on wealth management/private banking and (business) consulting with a focus on banking
• Good knowledge and understanding of the private banking industry and global financial markets
• Excellent slide-writing skills, with the ability to create communications tailored to specific target audiences
• Advanced Excel and data handling skills, combined with an aptitude for deriving in-depth insights from financial topics
• Proficient knowledge and understanding of data analytics and visualization applications (e.g., Tableau), etc.
• Excellent oral communication skills to translate complex financial data into actionable proposals or comprehensive terms
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multiple senior stakeholders
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills, a quick thinker, and an outstanding team player
• A strong understanding of capital and balance sheet management (including the implications of regulatory capital requirements on profitability and product sales) would be a huge plus
